TAO, MAY KARAPATAN KA

Ni Pat V. Villafuerte

TAO, sino ang nagsabing ikaw'y walang karapatan

                Sa makulay na daigdig na iyong ginagalawan?

                Gayong iyong nababatid na mayro'n kang  gagampanang

                Mahalagang tungkuling tanging sa ‘yo nakalaan.

Karapatan mong mamuhay nang masaya't matiwasay

                Na walang bumabagabag sa puso mo at isipan,

                Ang sinumang nagnanais guluhin ang iyong buhay

                Ipahuli't ipagsakdal...ito'y iyong karapatan.

Karapatan mong pumili ng pananampalataya

                Sapagkat iginagalang ang iyong paniniwala;

                Ang sinumang sambahin mo'y binibigyan ka ng laya

                Na siya'y panaligan mo nang makamtan ang biyaya.

Poblacion, Tuba Barangay is a semi-urban place. Most of its people are workers in the government and private sector; others depend on agriculture while some depend on small scale business.                           Most of its inhabitants belong to the Ibaloi tribe. As a semi-urban place, however, other inhabitants are Kankanaeys, Tagalogs, Bontocs and Ilocanos. Their practices are usually patterned from their ethnic origins. One example of a good community practice is the spirit of collective work known as bayanihan.  This bayanihan practice is sometimes evident in doing important works in schools, churches and even in community affairs.     In terms of religious affiliation, majority of the inhabitants are members of the Roman Catholic Church.  The rest belongs to Baptist, Iglesia ni Cristo,  Espiritista and some new evangelical churches. Important celebrations in the community are limited to the Roman Catholic Church fiesta and the Municipal Foundation Day every second week of December
